How old do I have to be to work at camp?
Camp staff must be at least 16 years old. For students entering 11th grade, there are a few select positions available. Entering 12th grade and older are eligible to be counselors, lifeguards, and specialists.
How much will I get paid?
Compensation includes salary, tips, lunch, and in many cases transportation to and from camp. We also offer additional opportunities to increase compensation. Exact salaries are dependent on age, experience, and position at camp. Please reach out to us to discuss your unique situation.
What are the hours? When is the first day and the last day? Are there any days off?
The camp day is 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Some administrative and office roles require additional time at camp. If you are a bus counselor, you will be picked up in time to complete your route and arrive at camp by 9:00 AM. Buses leave camp by 4:00 PM.
As a day camp, we are also closed every Saturday and Sunday.
Do I have to live near Ramaquois to work there?
The vast majority of our staff live within 30 miles of our location in Pomona, NY. We have a select number of positions that are filled with international staff or others that do not live Ramaquois. For those positions, we are able to provide housing options. Please contact us for more information.
Does Ramaquois provide transportation to and from camp for staff?
In most instances, we are able to provide transportation to and from camp for staff that live near Ramaquois. Not only will you save on gas, but you can likely be a bus counselor and earn extra salary and tips!

Are there opportunities for International Staff?
Camp Ramaquois hires a small number of International Staff each summer. If you are already working with a sponsor company, please let us know. Otherwise, we may be able to sponsor your visa. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation.
